Sourcing isn't just about where an ingredient comes from. It's about what would have happened to it if we hadn't used it.
Native First, and nothing left over.
Where we can, we source directly — from our own land and from growers within the region. Where a raw material genuinely doesn't exist here, or where technology does the job better, we bring in the cleanest European inputs available, including upcycled seed oils that would otherwise go to waste.
This isn't about chasing distance for its own sake. It's why global commodity ingredients like shea or jojoba don't appear in our formulas, even when they'd work functionally — they'd contradict the sourcing logic we've actually built the company around.
Upcycled, not virgin
Some of what we use is a by-product of another process — seed left over from other production, that would otherwise be discarded. We press it into oil instead.
Regional, not global
A shorter supply chain is easier to verify, easier to visit, and easier to be honest about. That's a practical reason as much as a philosophical one.
Still being built, not finished.
We're working with a regional agricultural cooperative in Harghita county to source raw seed material closer to home. Part of that relationship right now is genuinely collaborative groundwork — helping a smaller, local supplier build toward the quality documentation that cosmetic-grade ingredients require, rather than simply buying from an already-certified, larger supplier elsewhere.
This is a developing partnership, not a mature, fully-audited supply chain yet. We'd rather describe it accurately at this stage than present it as more finished than it is.
